Did Automation switched the AC off?

Objective:

How to check if the automation works in the room (With a 25 Min Timeout)

Prerequisites:

  • Automation mode must be SuperSave

  • The room must be unoccupied on the dashboard

Procedure:

  1. Enter the room

  2. The status on the dashboard should change to occupied in less than 30 sec

  3. If the AC is Off, switch it On

  4. Leave the room with Aircon On and wait for 30 min

  5. The dashboard must show the room as unoccupied

  6. The dashboard must show the AC off

  7. Enter the room

  8. Within less than 30s the AC should turn back on

  9. The dashboard must show the AC on

  10. The dashboard must show the room as Occupied

Result:

  • If the sensors follow this process, then automation works

  • The whole process to test our sensor takes 40 min

Objective:

How to check if the automation works in the room (With a 2 Min Timeout)

Prerequisites:

  • Automation mode must be Supersave

  • The room must be unoccupied on the dashboard

  • Occupancy Timeout must be 2 min (if you plan to change the timeout to 2m, you need to ensure a change is made in the rooms for the settings changes to go through)

Procedure:

  1. Enter the room

  2. The status on the dashboard should change to occupied in less than 30 sec

  3. If the AC is Off, switch it On

  4. Leave the room with Aircon On and wait for 5 min

  5. The dashboard must show the room as unoccupied

  6. The dashboard must show the AC off

  7. Enter the room

  8. Within less than 30s the AC should turn on again

  9. The dashboard must show the AC on

  10. The dashboard must show the room as Occupied

Result:

  • If the sensors follow this process, then automation works

  • The whole process to test our sensor takes 10 min
