Troubleshooting Guide: Resolving Unintended Cycling Behavior in Room Air Conditioning

Encountering issues with your air conditioner turning on and off unexpectedly? Let's get it sorted out!

Written by Soumya Sarkar

This hiccup often occurs when the configuration mistakenly reads '0' for Occupancy timeouts.

Expected Behavior: When the OCC timeout is set to 0, it signals the air conditioner to turn off instantly when no heat or movement is detected. Conversely, if heat or movement is sensed, it triggers the air conditioner to turn on promptly.

Follow these steps to fix the issue:

  1. Head to the SensorFlow Dashboard.

  2. Use the search field to locate the specific room or area.

  3. Select the key/room (e.g., Key 02-05).

  4. Navigate to the 'Hotel Staff View' tab.

  5. Go to the 'Configuration' tab.

  6. Check the Occupancy Timeout and adjust it according to preferences. Ensure it is set to more than 0 minutes to prevent Unintended Cycling Behavior of the air conditioner.

Recommendation: The default settings are as follows:

  • Occupancy timeout during active hours = 25 minutes

  • Occupancy timeout outside active hours = 60 minutes

Make these adjustments to enjoy uninterrupted and efficient air conditioning.
